- Résumé:
- This network will be devoted to design and implement scientifically-based tools for marine spatial planning to be adopted by conservation and management authorities and decision makers from a trans-national perspective, in the current context of global change. BIOSEAWID will provide services to public and private institutions by enhancing the innovation and the transference of knowledge among agents involved in marine spatial planning, including managers and decision-makers, stake holders, scientists, general public, etc. Moreover, BIOSEAWIND will enhance the public awareness on the protection of marine environment and the sustainable use of marine resources in a changing world, by means of dissemination campaigns and education activities related with marine environment. Development and implementation of an integrated OCEANIC DATA METWORK for coastal zone/marine ecosystem management and biodiversity preservation, which ultimately is fundamental for the well-being of human societies/communities. Design and implementation of an early warning system face to potential threats to the marine environment. Develop scientifically-based tools for marine spatial planning to be adopted by conservation and management authorities and decision makers from a trans-national perspective, in the context of domestic and international conservation and management mandates. Develop cutting-edge technologies for Ocean Environmental Surveillance. Enhance the transference of knowledge among agents involved in environmental marine planning, including managers and decision-makers, socio-economics agents, Scientists, general public, etc. Provide knowledge-based services to decision-makers and potential users of marine environment. Promote an effective strategy for trans-national cooperation among regions and for transference of knowledge on environmental marine planning, in order to supply good practices for protection of marine environment and sustainable management of marine resources, based on a Marine ecosystem-based management approach/framework. Enhance the public awareness on the protection of marine environment and the sustainable use of marine resources, by means of dissemination campaigns and education activities related with marine environment.
