R&D and industrial stakeholders focused on micromachining are invited to cooperate to create a network prepared to provide support services for the development, technology transfer and consulting on micro-scale technologies, systems and applications, currently considered to have an important effect on the ability of industries to compete in the global marketplace.
Résumé:
The activities would focus on the technology transfer and creation of conditions for the adoption of micro-scale manufacturing processes integrating emergent technologies, such as pulsed Laser or electrical discharge machining, able to work with a wide assortment of advanced materials, such as aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, super alloys, Invar, besides other metallic, ceramic and polymeric materials, encompassing diverse products applications. Besides the manufacturing process development and the demonstration of the application, this network would also be able to develop and provide specific tooling and support’s equipment considered to be essential to fulfill process specific quality and/or production criteria. These activities should leverage the adoption of innovative production technologies considered essential to the integration of advanced materials in the most exigent production scenarios and high added-value industrial products, regarding their complexity or specificity, and consequently to the competitiveness of regional ad interregional companies of the SUDOE space, as well as to the creation of new technology-based companies in this region.
