Objectivos:: The main objective is perform innovative and technological development in Augemented Reality to create a toolkit that will make this innovative technology more accesible to SMEs and assisting them to exploit it for new services and products, improving their competitiveness in the SUDOE area and beyond.
Resumo:: Augmented Reality (AR) consists of an interaction between the real world and virtual objects; it supplements the reality, instead of replacing it with virtual reality. AR can have a lot of advantages for practically any kind of discipline, offering a representative tool or simulation that otherwise would be very costly, in areas such as design, entertainment, traffic, sports, education, architecture, medicine, tourism, publicity, etc. However currently this advanced technology is to complex and costly for SMEs to apply to their daily services and would require a major investment in equipment and knowledge. Therefore this project idea has the objective to develop an innovative Augmented Reality toolkit, making AR accessible for SMEs through a platform with easy to use templates for users without technical knowledge. At the same time the project will initiate a cluster of SMEs representing the strategic economical areas of the SUDOE area. In this cluster the uptake of the toolkit will be optimized and different application scenarios will be identified in order to stimulate the competitiveness of the SMEs.
