Objectivos:: The objective of this project is to provide the equipment manufacturers and components suppliers with differentiated products with superior eco-efficiency, supported by EcoDesign tools during product development.
Resumo:: Aggressive cost-based market competitiveness, particularly from regions producing low innovative technology products, forces equipment manufacturers and components suppliers to reduce acquisition prices and maintenance costs of their products. At the same time, legislation is pushing the suppliers to increase the environmental performance of their products, integrated in a global sustainable economical growing (EcoDesign directive, EuP directive of 2005/32/EC, amended at 2008/28/EC). While several self-regulatory initiatives among the European industry stakeholders representing the manufacturers are being prepared, it is essential to develop the required methodologies, tools and systems integration needed for faster and more efficient introduction and ramp up of new eco-products in the market.
