Last July, SOS Praderas organized a workshop at the Picos de Europa Mountains to promote experiences exchanges and knowledge transfer among managers, universities and enterprises, linked to harvested meadows of Sudoe regions. More specifically, this activity enabled to establish the state of art of Picos de Europa harvested meadows preservation and management as well as the administrative and legal tools used for their management. The meeting was attended by the project’s beneficiaries and European experts, principally related to national parks management.

The meetings were complemented by several activities on the ground as the Majada de Gumartini climbing, meetings with designation of origin cheeses and visits to Sotres and Morrena de Pido meadows.

SOS Praderas aims at recuperating traditional knowledge related to harvested meadows associating them with current tools to promote its preservation through French, Portuguese and Spanish entities.
