On 4/05/2017, ACTIU enterprise - located in Castalia (Spain), hosted a workshop on additive production and advanced materials, organized by the Cluster of Innovative Enterprises from the Toy Valley (CEIV), in the framework of SAMT SUDOE project.

This event, which brought 40 people together, counted on a presentation on SAMT SUDOE by Mr. Alejandro Fernández Mera, Project Officer, and the interventions of the project’s partners - Mr. Rui Soares from CENTIMFE (Portugal) and Mr. Mohamed Gouné from ICMCB (France), about additive production and advanced materials applications for enterprises. Those applications were highlighted through concrete cases, introduced by several professionals of the sector, and a field visit to AIJU buildings. Thus, the event contributed to the exchange of opinions on the adaptation and application’s areas of advanced materials, concluding on the need both to reduce associated costs and to improve the level of tolerance, and the importance of providing materials with new characteristics to be used in additive production.  

With a FEDER budget of 746.120,28 €, SAMT SUDOE brings pragmatic solutions to the plastic sector’s difficulties regarding the use of R&D in productive processes, which have a negative impact on its competitiveness. With this in mind, the project promotes Technologies of additive Production (3D Print) and advanced materials in enterprises of the sector through the development of an international cooperative platform.
