First call for proposals

The Interreg Sudoe Programme opened the first call for proposals of the period 2014-2020 to the five priority axis, with a total ERDF budget of 40.2 million Euros, distributed as follows:

STEP 1

The first call for proposals launched Step 1 from the 21st of September to the 6th of November 2015. At this stage, potential beneficiaries had to submit a simplified project proposal (check the template in Spanish, French or Portuguese) within the deadline fixed by the announcement. The project proposals had to be submitted twice:

  • The online application, written in all the languages of the partnership, submitted through the online application system eSudoe before the 6th of November 2015 at 12 noon (Santander's local time).
  • The paper application, written in the language of the lead beneficiary and unbound, sent by post to the Joint Secretary before the 6th of November at 11.59 pm (Santander's local time).

After the closure of Step 1, the Joint Secretariat received 496 project proposals. You can read here some statistics about the type of projects submitted.

The list of shortlisted projects was published on the 24th of February 2016, after the decision of the Steering Committee, that met on the 23th of February in Lisbon (Portugal).

STEP 2

Step 2 of the first call for proposals was open from the 29th of February to the 29th of April 2016. At this stage, potential beneficiaries had to submit a complete project proposal (download here the full application kit in Spanish, French or Portuguese) within the deadline fixed by the first call’s announcement: 

  • The online application, written in all the languages of the partnership, submitted through the online application system eSudoe before the 29th of April 2016 at 12 noon (Santander's local time).
  • The paper application, written in the language of the lead beneficiary and unbound, sent by post to the Joint Secretary before the 29th of April at 11.59 pm (Santander's local time).

The Joint Secretariat published a set of Frequently Asked Questions to answer the most common questions of the potential beneficiaries with regards to Step 2.

Technical meeting on Step 2

The Joint Secretariat organised on the 16th of March 2016 in the afternoon and on the 17th of March 2016 in the morning a technical meeting about Step 2 of the first call for proposals, inviting the applicants that successfully passed Step 1.

The meeting, that took place in Santander (Spain), focused on the technical aspects of the submission of applications, as well as certain content aspects to improve the quality of the proposals.

After the technical meeting, the Joint Secretariat prepared a document that includes further information, in order to provide an answer to some questions that arose in the course of the evant. You can download this document here (available in SpanishFrench and Portuguese).

Approval of the projects

The final approval of the projects was notified after the decision of the Steering Committee, that met on the 30th of June 2016 in Porto (Portugal). However, in the coming weeks, some projects will have to provide extra documents or modifications required by the Sterring Committee.

The programming of the projects will be definitive after the ceremony of signature of the ERDF grants, followed by a seminar on project management, expected for the 26th and 27th of September 2016 in Santander (Spain).
