PHYTOSUDOE : First workshop on the management of degraded soils, Bordeaux (France), 27/04/2017

On 27/04/2017, the PHYTOSUDOE project organized a workshop at the University of Bordeaux which brought more than 40 participants together, among which researchers in the phyto-restauration field, members of the public administration responsible for the degraded soils management in the Basque Country and France and representatives of enterprises related to phyto-mining or the decontamination of contaminated soils.

This event composed by talks and the presentation of 22 posters of specific works, allowed the organization of a roundtable which focused on the public-private cooperation in the phyto-management of contaminated/degraded soils. The following day, the annual Phytosudoe Assembly took place. In this context, the project partners introduced the developments of the later and the work foreseen for the next months, and then, participated to the visit of experimental parcels.

With € 947 909,81 ERDF budget, PHYTOSUDOE aims at promoting the restoration of contaminated soils through phytomanagement- a new technique based on non-food plants cultivation which absorb the contamination and disable the contaminant field factors.
