PhytoSUDOE concludes with the LAYMAN publication’s report

Categoría Management of projects approved

From July 2016, the PhytoSUDOE project took several actions to fight against soils contamination in South-Western Europe. For this purpose, they use the phytomanagement options – a topic with lack of field evidence which is based on the use of non food plants which absorbe and inactivate contamination; a very eco-friendly and low cost measure.

Thus, PhytoSUDOE shows the potential of phytomanagement according to several scenarios (contamination’s levels, environmental conditions, uses of soils, etc.). For this purpose, they created a network of field demonstration trial, in sites with different conditions, to which they applied phytomanagement procedures. All the results and methodologies have been highlighted in the LAYMAN report which is available for free  (http://www.phytosudoe.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/LAYMAN-FINAL.pdf ).

Furthermore, PhytoSUDOE let us an explanatory and entertaining video in which they explain the objectives and results of the project as well as the phytomanagement’s benefices. Don’t hesitate to have a look: https://youtu.be/mNbhFRn9eUo . We say goodbye to PhytoSUDOE after two years of success against contamination and we look forward to following the next developments on phytomanagement. Thanks PhytoSUDOE!
