BREXIT: Impact on Interreg Sudoe Programme

Categoría General

On 29 March 2017, the United Kingdom notified the European Council of its intention to leave the European Union, in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. Since then, The EU – led by Mr. Michel Barnier, and UK negotiators agreed on the "Terms of Reference for the Article 50 TEU negotiations" which stipulates the structure of the negotiations, dates and priorities for future negotiating rounds. In the meantime, the UK remains a full member of the EU. This means that all existing EU rights and obligations continue to apply to the UK. Concerning Interreg Sudoe, United Kingdom (Gibraltar) remains eligible. Modifications or updated on the territorial eligibility of United Kingdom (Gibraltar) will be communicated through our website.

In the meanwhile, you can follow the situation’s evolution through the official Gibraltar government website (https://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/new/press-releases)  and the European Commission website, set up for the follow-up of Brexit (https://ec.europa.eu/commission/brexit-negotiations_en).
