NanoSen-Aqm: meeting in Coimbra

Last October, NanoSen-Aqm met in Coimbra (PT) to achieve a mid-term evaluation of the project. During this event, some projects of nano-sensors were introduced since they have been tested in labs. Now, they will be adapted in order to measure the pollutants of the project (CO, O3 y NO2). Moreover, discussions on the electronic systems with commercial sensors which have been settled to measure the air quality in official stations were raised. The achieved results till now show the differences between pollutants that will be corrected through the algorithms redefinition in order to read the data. In addition, a webpage and an app have been developed in order to access to data on air quality, obtained through an external service. The App can be downloaded here.  On the other hand, the campaigns for the awareness on air quality that will take place in 2020 were discussed.

NanoSen-AQM is a project that monitors the environmental pollution through a real-time system control of air quality. Based on an electronic system of low-cost and energy-saving sensors developed by nanotechnologies and microelectronics, NanoSen-AQM provides high-precision spatio-temporal data to predict the air quality.

VINIOT starts: a project on “precision agriculture” applied to viticulture

On November 5th, the VINIOT project had its kickoff event in the Centre of Laser Applications of AIMEN in Vigo (Spain). This event gathered the partners of the project highlighting the objectives and expected results of the project.

VINIOT is based on a system of new technologies in order to monitor the vineyards and allow minor farmers to benefit from the modern technology for their crops. Thus, the VINIOT system evaluates primary parameters of viticulture such as the status of hydric, the status of growth, the plagues, etc., offering an alarm system in order the warehouses experts to operate at an early stage. The project will reduce the production costs, increase the crops volumes and improve the wine quality.
