BIOHERITAGE: represented at the FITUR and acknowledged by FAO
On January 23rd, the project Bioheritage joined International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), Madrid, at the stand of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food's. For the project, whose aim is to protect and enhance natural areas through indigenous livestock breeds as biodiversity heritage and tourism attraction, this was a precious occasion to promote agro-tourism and the natural environment with local breeds.
Moreover, the genetic resource management of the “caldelá” native breed, managed by the partner of the project “Federation of local breeds of Galice (BOAGA)”, was recognised as a good example of management of genetic resources by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
